Cheema, Desai star in Canada XI's win over Hampshire

An all-round effort by Rizwan Cheema (31 and 2-27) helped Canada XI beat English county side Hampshire in the opening game of the Caribbean Twenty20 cricket tournament in North Sound, Antigua by 23 runs on Tuesday.
Canada XI after opting to bat first ended at 129 for seven in its 20 overs. Opener Ruvindu Gunasekera was the other major contributor with 29.
In its chase Hampshire could never get going as Canada XI's spin attack bowled good restrictive lines. Man of the match Parth Desai bowled a good spell of 2-15. Jimmy Hansra (1-14) and Harvir Baidwan (1-21) also took wickets as Hampshire was limited to 106-8.
Canada XI is using the tournament as a build-up to ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Canada XI's next match is against Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday, 15th January.
